9 Tarot + Oracle Decks That Channel the Energy of Lammas

The decks below are ones I intuitively associate with Lammas. Some have been longtime companions while others are newer additions for this year but hum have the same seasonal energy of earthiness, radiance and reflection.

Seasons of the Witch: Lammas Oracle

It’s the obvious first pick—but for good reason. I created it specifically for this sabbat, so the Lammas Oracle speaks in the language of harvest and gratitude. It’s an ode to the sacredness of effort, and the magic of knowing when to reap, when to rest, and when to trust in the unseen seeds you’ve sown.

W.I.T.C.H. (Woman In Total Control of Herself) Oracle

This one remains from last year’s list because it really is just so well suited for this time of year. Lammas corresponds to the Leo season and that is what this deck is all about. Claiming your power, taking up space, letting yourself be seen. If ever you’re looking for a deck to claim your self-worth, this is it. There is a matching tarot but interesting enough, I found that to be much more aligned with Mabon than Lammas. But this one for sure feels right at home in your summer work.

Tarot of the Woodland Wardens

A deck full of animals and plants? Well if that doesn’t say the summer season then I don’t know what will. Jessica Roux follows up her Woodland Wardens oracle with a beautiful deck that full of all creatures, not just the ones from the woods. Most noticeably are the marine creatures which makes this even more summery. But you’ll barn animals, sky animals and of course the beauties from the woods too.

Earth Woman Tarot

This deck is saturated with color and summery energy. Earth Woman Tarot overflows imagery of ripeness, heat, expressive florals and all of the outdoorsy symbolism you’d want out of the summer season. It could definitely carry into Mabon especially with the presence of earthy roots and a sacred feminine tone, but there’s something about the vibrancy of this deck that screams Lammas to me.

Goddess Astrology Oracle

I gotta say, I wasn’t all that thrilled to review an astrology deck. They all tend to be exactly the same. You know it, 10 planetary cards, 12 zodiac sign cards and maybe the houses with a few asteroids. This does offer exactly that but what I loved about the deck is Tarn’s art. There’s something about this one in particular that feels sexy, feminine and more mature than her previous work. And while you do get the regular run of the mill cards, she’s done them in a way that is a little unexpected. Plus, if you’re using Earth Woman Tarot this summer then this deck will be a perfect match.

Horse Wisdom Oracle

This is another one that remains from last year’s list. I have always thought of Lammas as the season of the horse. Pair them with golden tones and wheat imagery spread throughout, it feels like an easy choice to work with for this sabbath. There is an elegant warmth that mirrors August afternoons. But the best thing about this deck is that it will easily carry you from Lammas straight to Mabon while feeling energetically aligned to both.

Folklore Oracle

The Folklore Oracle is one of the most stunning decks I’ve seen in a long time and no wonder. The artist is the very same from the original Seasons of the Witch oracles (Samhain, Beltane and Yule). Although I think her work has evolved beautifully. Her images are layered, moody, feminine and earthy. This could’ve easily been the Seasons of the Witch: Lammas Oracle for sure. All of that beauty plus a well-written guidebook means you’ve got an excellent deck filled with the bright energy of the end of summer.

Old Style Tarot

This deck feels traditional and yet, has such a sunny quality about it too. It’s warm and charming and feels like what you’d expect during late July and early August. It instantly reminded me of the Seasons of the Witch: Lammas Oracle straight from the start. So much so, I deemed them companion decks.

Kate Forsyth's Hedgewitch Oracle

This deck is so lush. Each card feels like peaking through a bush and discovering a small insect or bunny inside. It has all of the tones I’d expect to see during Lammas: greens, yellows and just a dusting of ambers and oranges to let you know Fall is going to start creeping in soon. But most of all, the imagery invokes abundance and gratitude for having enough. I also think Kate is a brilliant writer and while this isn’t my favorite of her decks, I do think it’s perfect for this time of the year. Do yourself a favor and get at least one deck from her. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

The decks you work with matter and not just aesthetically, but energetically. When we align our spiritual tools with the seasons, we open the door to deeper embodiment and more meaningful insight. Lammas invites us to see what’s here now, to appreciate what we’ve built, and to gently loosen our grip where necessary.
