Hello my darlings. We’ve made it to the halfway point of the year. The Summer Solstice is this weekend which is so wild. I can’t believe we’ve gotten here so fast. Ahead of Litha, the cards are urging you to take some time to care for your physical body especially but also your mental body and spiritual body. Make at least a little time to treat yourself to something special. Perhaps a massage or pedicure or an extra hour to get lost in your favorite book. Make the fancy latte or buy it, throw the summer bbq or skip the one you were invited too. Just do something that make you feel replenished. You deserve it.

Your body is begging for rest when this card appears. And not just west but full body care. Your body is lacking something. Perhaps its vitamins and minerals, sleep, more water or mental health. When this card appears, it's a strong sign that the lack of care for your physical body is spilling over into other areas too. It becomes a lot harder to have new ideas when you’re tired or to make time to spend with others when you barely have the energy to get through your own day. Remember that you need your body to do all other things in this lifetime. Your body is the physical vehicle that makes it possible for you to feel and experience life. Making your body less of a priority isn’t saving you time or making you more responsible. Quite the opposite. It’s causing you a lot of delayed stress and worry that could be avoided.

We tend to believe animals are happy to be domesticated. That horse should learn to love being confined to a small space, acting as transportation for humans instead of roaming as they please. Take a moment to imagine your soul is a horse that has been captured and forced to be “broken.” The truth is that so many of us are wild horses that have had our spirits broken. So many of us are living in a cage made out of pressures, expectations, fears, and complications. These cages may not be physical but they hold us in all the same. Horse has appeared to urge you to remember your wildness. To show you that you do not have to stay confined into the spaces others are expecting of you. You can roam free, changing your direction at any moment you choose. There are so many, especially animals, who do not have the choice to change their lives but you do so make the most of it.

Receiving this card can mean several things but for this week, I feel strongly that it's saying you don’t need an answer today. If there’s a problem you've been trying to solve then take a break from it. Brute force of will is not always the way. Sometimes you need to step away from something for better perspective or even just to give your mind and body some time to rest. Replenishment allows your body the chance to heal which will ultimately lead to a clearer mind. As you take this time away from your problem, try grounding yourself. Reconnect to your physical body or the earth. Allow yourself to experience the pleasure of being present without drifting to other tasks or worries. I know that’s hard, especially when you have a huge problem to deal with. But if obsessing over something 24 hours a day could solve your problem, then you would’ve had the fix already.

Sunbathing represents spiritual self-care; all of the things that nourish your connection to something bigger than yourself. That might be working with moon energy, joining a community who shares your spiritual views, or creating a personal spiritual practice that is perfectly tailored to you. There’s a reason why humans have had religion throughout our existence. It gives us something to believe in and that brings us a sense of peace and fulfillment. However, it's important to understand that spiritual self-care isn’t a one time thing. It's something to invest in over a long period of time if not a lifetime. Today, take some time to think about what you need to feel spiritually fulfilled? What does it even mean to you to be spiritually fulfilled? And then build your practice from there.

What song are you hearing right now? What’s calling to you, begging you to come closer and have a deeper look? There’s a reason why something catches your eye or tickles your spirit. It means there’s something there for you. Something that could lead to the greatest adventure of your life if you let it. Don’t mistake a calling for a clear answer; it doesn’t work like that. Sometimes that first call is just the first of many breadcrumbs, leading you down a path that can only reveal itself in time. The problem is that so many people believe the whole journey will be spelled out for them and when that doesn’t happen, they give up because they’re too afraid to go into the unknown. But your dreams are around those dark corners and deep waters. They’re not hanging out on a vine for you to pluck. They have to be pursued, earned and committed to.

This is a lovely card to receive, especially just ahead of the real life summer solstice. When it appears, it means good fortune is favoring you today. Some sort of blessing may find you and it makes you feel so outrageously good, you’re wondering how you could possibly be the one to receive it. But small blessings are just as good so don’t discount something small but meaningful. If someone offers to pay for your coffee then let them. Or if someone steps in to help you carry some groceries, don’t protest, just thank them. This card is about good fortune yes but also about allowing yourself to receive kindness. It doesn’t have to mean anything nor does it need to mean you own anything. Sometimes the universe is just happy to give and all it wants is for you to be happy to receive.

As far as spiritual properties, citrus fruits are incredibly cleansing and opening. When this card appears, it's because something is coming to a natural end. Something has reached the end of its life cycle and you are now being asked to let it go, especially if both sides can feel the end is near. Don’t try to save what’s ending now for it's beyond saving. Allow yourself to hold onto the good times while also acknowledging things can change with time. People grow apart, goals no longer hold the same weight, or you’re just a different person now.
