We’re so close to summer now and you can really start to feel the energy moving faster. It’s like there’s so much going on. It’s both overwhelming and exhilarating. Summer also brings the energy of shinning your light but I think we need to reframe what that means. It’s not necessarily about being seen although it can be. It’s more about feeling good within yourself whether you’re seen or not. Not every hobby has to become a business. Nor does every improvement needs to be public. Maybe your light is just for you to see where you’re going more so than needing it to be a light for others. This week’s cards are asking you to find that place within yourself where you feel like you and if you want to shine that light for others than please do. But also know that it’s perfectly ok to keep your energy to yourself. This is your life to live and that’s already hard enough. Don’t feel like you have to live your life as an example for others. You’ve done the work to find your light. Let others do the work to find theirs too.

→ Sunset Dinner
This card’s primary meaning is to be mindful about the kind of people you spend your time with. This can mean two things. The first and most obvious is that if someone doesn’t share your goals, then you need to find someone else who does. The other meaning however, is that those around you may be projecting their ideas of what is right or wrong for you. Do you really want something in your life right now or are people putting pressure on you to want that? If you’re happy with your situation, then what does it matter what others have to say? You get to decide who to invite to your table and if someone doesn’t care for the meal you have to offer then it's probably best they find a new seat.

→ Heat wave
Trouble is brewing today. The presence of this card means something isn’t right or is in the midst of falling apart. It may seem unexpected but deep down, you knew this storm was coming. You didn’t know when or perhaps how bad but you’ve felt the heat of it creeping up your spine. It’s going to feel like something devastating or pretty close to it but it isn’t going to break you. Things will still work out for your highest good. The trick is to understand that working out doesn’t mean things will happen the way you want. They’ll happen the way they need to to get you out of a situation you shouldn’t be in to begin with. I’m not going to tell you to find the silver lining. Sometimes you just can’t know what the benefit is until the dust has settled and sometimes not even then. Your goal isn’t to try to find some glorious gift in a shitty situation. It’s to understand you can get through this. Maybe not without a bruise or two but you’ll make it through all the same.

The zodiac sign cancer wants to know how are you doing? This sign represents the internal landscape and is deeply connected to our emotions and what we need to feel safe and nourished. This card’s message is simple: it's time to simplify. What instantly comes to mind are those ridiculous milkshakes. You know the ones: they have a slice of cake on top, toasted marshmallows, graham crackers around the rim, a cookie straw, Oreos, and have a basket of fruit. There’s so much on top you can’t even get to the damn milkshake. On the surface, it seems like you’re getting a lot of value for your money but really, you’re just getting a lot of junk that you didn’t really need. You wanted a milkshake and why can’t a milkshake, made really well be enough? You don’t need to add so many layers. At least for today, everything doesn’t need to be color coded, done to perfection, complex and a measure of excellence. Simple pleasures are still pleasurable and today, let that be enough.

This card when it comes down to it means freedom. And not just in the “go on a wild adventure” kind of way but to truly invite freedom into your spirit. It reminds you that things don’t need to be perfect and in fact, they won’t be. Rewild invites you to learn to love your jagged edges and to let some weeds grow into your garden from time to time. They have value too. In a physical garden, weeds are often some of the most healing plants. The same is true in your spiritual garden. Sometimes the weeds you experience in the form of challenges or what you perceive as flaws are actually valuable sources of brilliance that might lead to a breakthrough, an innovation, or a reclaiming. Ultimately, this card calls for you to be free with yourself and to stop placing unnecessary expectations on yourself that don’t align with who you are. Embrace the weeds, the flaws, the mistakes and see how they can help you grow.

Have you been needy lately? Have you relied too much on other people for tasks you’re perfectly capable of doing yourself? Have you played the victim or used sympathy as a crutch? Look, we’ve all been there at one time or another. We’ve all held onto hardship longer than we should have because life is shitty and hard sometimes and it's nice for someone else to do the heavy lifting. But, it's also nice to be able to lift yourself up instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you. Receiving this card is your sign to stop waiting for a savior or knight on a white horse or get out of jail free card. It's time you became your own hero and save yourself. You know what you need to do, you’ve just been afraid and that is not the same thing as lacking clarity. This card is a hard dose of truth… stop making excuses and figure it out. You’ll stumble of course and that’s to be expected. This card is not about perfection but about a willingness to learn how to rely on yourself.
