This week offers an opportunity to shift into a new direction. To be clear, this is not a hard u-turn but a subtle drift to the right. Drift fair enough, and you will find yourself in a completely different place. What is being offered here is a chance to make small but meaningful changes. To invest in something that could make all the difference in closing the gap between where you are and where you’re going. To take steps towards building your confidence, one smile, one head held high, and one act of courage at a time.
Towards the end of the week, we see the Wheel and The World (Ascending to Spring) letting us know more significant change is on the way. The World especially represents positive changes and reason to celebrate. I hope you’ll find hope and strength in that. 2026 hasn’t been the easiest start for many of us. I’ve heard so many people talking about how they’re moving so slowly through the world these days as if our planet is drenched in molasses. And others are experiencing extreme hardships in one form or another.
These cards aren’t offering an instant fix to any of that but they do serve as a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Which of course aligns beautifully with the year as we make our way towards Imbolc.

Like all pages, the initiate of winter pentacles is a student. They’re eager to learn and to develop plans. They have a desire to do or be something and to grow in their craft. The page of pentacles is the most grounded of all the pages. They believe in taking their time and doing what is required to be excellent, choosing master over quick results. When this card appears, it's to invite you to learn or do something new. That could be a skill or taking steps to cultivate a better attitude or a sense of peace, especially as we look at this card on a more day to day basis. What do you need to cultivate today? What is required for you to move forward or to level up? The page represents this starting point and urges you to take steps to get the ball rolling.

The Master of Wands or what you might know as king of wands is confident, a gift he offers you when he appears. He advises you to light your fire and let others watch as you burn as bright as you dare. He expects respect which is why he has it. He doesn’t hide his greatness which is why others can see it. He feels confident in himself which is why others feel his confidence too. He knows that what he sends out into the world is what he gets back so he chooses his energy wisely. Today, put on your confidence even if it's just a little. Hold your head high, smile at strangers, roll back your shoulders or any other gesture that makes you feel taller, stronger. Just see if this makes a difference in how you walk through the world today and if so, how might this difference change you for the better?

You might change how you walk, creating an intentional stride for yourself. Perhaps you wish to unlock a new version of yourself with a new hairstyle or maybe you want to try new foods. Let the world show you what’s possible at this time.

→ Four of Winter Cups
For many years, I believed the four of cups represented boredom or a lack of interest but we never really knew that to be true. We’ve assumed that’s the meaning because in the Rider Waite version, the figure looks away from the cup being offered to him. But consider this, what if the figure simply didn’t want the cup? Not because he he’s bored or uninterested but because he’s content with the three cups he already has. Or perhaps he’s weighing his choice against what he already has? Maybe taking the fourth cup means he has to sacrifice the others? And it's in the “maybe” that we truly get the meaning of this card which is taking a moment rather to contemplate or to withdraw or to be present. You are being asked to take such a moment today; to slow down in your decision making rather than blindly accepting what is being offered.

→Ace of Winter Cups
The Ace of cups, like all ace cards, represents an opportunity. In this case, the opportunity corresponds to matters of the heart. While it would be easy and perhaps desirable to immediately assume this card relates to love, there are so many other avenues in which this card’s energy can unfurl. Love isn’t just about a romantic partner or even the shared relationship between two people. This card invites you to open your heart to all of love’s possibilities. To open your heart, that is the chance being offered to you now. Today is a day to contemplate how you can soften your heart and allow more love, passion and ease into your life. But as is the case with all aces, this chance is not a guarantee. It's still up to you to grab for whatever presents itself to you today or allow it to slip back to where it came. Take time to consider a new love interest, spark of an idea, a connection snapping into place, or even just your interest being piqued. Today could be the start of an unexpected love affair if you're willing.

The Winter Wheel is a great card to receive if you’ve been going through something challenging. It represents the shifting of a situation and it confirms that things won’t be this way for much longer. But for now, your job is to understand that good and bad things happen in life. That sometimes you’re given a challenging season and often it lasts far longer than your level of comfort can manage. What’s important is knowing that it won’t be forever. That seasons come to an end and that there’s a blessing in that season, even when it isn’t obvious. This card isn’t inviting you to pretend everything is grand when it isn’t. But it does encourage you to try to make the most of whatever season you find yourself in. Perhaps a hard time pushed you to rediscover a passion or to remember something that was important to you or even to spend time with a loved one before it's too late. Focus on whatever good you can. It won’t make the challenge go away but it might help with the sting.

→ Ascending to Spring
Ascending to Spring, also known as the world, represents the closing of a season. It represents the culmination of a lot of work or time and the ability to finally see that a new chapter is upon you. There are obvious moments like a graduation or the birth of a baby or a promotion but there are more subtle ways this card can appear too. It could be having hope after a very long battle of having now. It could represent the day a new attitude or sense of confidence finally clicks into place. It could even be going out on a date after a really long time of feeling lonely. It's the kind of moment that makes you scream FINALLY! And when this moment occurs, don’t rush to be further along than you are or to push yourself to be in the next chapter before fully closing the book on this one. Take your time and savor this moment as they don’t come often.
