The Seasons of the Witch Oracles are a series of eight oracle decks, each corresponding to the eight sabbats of the Wheel of the Year. The first ever deck in the series was the Seasons of the Witch: Samhain Oracle, a deck that myself, Juliet Diaz and Giada Rose Goodman created entirely independently. None of us had ever made an oracle deck before and to say we had no clue what we were doing is probably an understatement. But we persevered even when our first launch was a complete disaster. We tried again, sold out and was picked up by Rockpool Publishing not too long after that.

This deck has gone through four editions. The first copy was a simple test print just for ourselves. It came in a really terrible box that was just a step up from a sheet of paper and foiled edges that looked like glued on glitter. We then sourced a printer overseas and printed a nicer edition in a two piece rigid box. But of course, getting picked up by a publisher had its advantages. It opened us up to better materials including the now infamous red foiled edges, something that hadn’t been done in the mass market before.

But it also came with its disadvantages. The original deck had 60 cards but we were forced to reduce the deck down to 44. We actually had to fight for that because they wanted us to do 36. But we pushed back and cut 16 cards which became the mass market edition. The independent version with the full 16 cards was never sold again until now.

Last year, our publisher asked if we’d be interested in doing a deluxe Samhain edition to which we eagerly said yes. Still after all of these years, we get requests to purchase the deck with all 60 cards so it seemed like a great idea. But to honor the massive success of the series, our publisher really went all out. The box is upgraded. It’s much bigger, newly designed and features red silver foil throughout. It’s also a really nice velvet feel with a book fold top this time.

Inside, you’ll find the 16 cards that were originally left behind but the backs have been fully upgraded with a new design to match the box featuring beautiful moths and red foil. You’ll also find a card holder, a newly improved guidebook and a vellum envelope containing several altar cards including one to consecrate ritual tools. It’s such a beautiful edition and if you guys love this one and it sells well, there might be a chance to add 16 additional cards to each of the Seasons of the Witch oracles.

Though be warned, these are limited edition so don’t miss your chance to get your hands on one of these. We don’t have plans for a second run (at least not at the time of writing this) and we for sure will not produce the independent version again.
