The Seasons of the Witch: Autumn Tarot is the second installment of the SOTW Tarot series: one oracle deck for each of the four seasons. This tarot series is an extension of the beloved Seasons of the Witch oracle series which featured eight decks in total, one for ach sabbat within the Wheel of the Year.
I have used tarot and oracle together in my readings pretty much since the start of my divination journey. I knew that a tarot deck would be next after the SOTW oracles but I honestly had no intentions on doing four. But I got a pretty sharp download that I needed to do this and I’m so glad I did. The SOTW tarots are some of my favorite products to date and I seriously cannot wait to finish the whole series.
But the Autumn Tarot may be my favorite deck that I’ve ever created. I’ve included a list of alternate card meanings for all 78 cards in the deck which I’m so proud of and the artwork is so stunning. I wanted to take this chance to lean hard into witch imagery and fall symbolism. Cups feature jack o lanterns, swords feature bare branches, pentacles are mirrors and wands are witch’s brooms. Together, Tijana and I carefully selected the imagery we felt represented autumn and autumn witches the best.
Which of course means Tijana is back creating her whimsical, moody illustrations and will be doing the complete series. Be sure to check out her work on Instagram and her store.
This deck is a study 78 cards through the lens of Autumn. Themes like death and crossing the veil, releasing and healing, shadow work and facing your fears. Each card will feel familiar but also slightly different as I have written interpretations that are more in alignment with Fall. However, because this deck is based on the traditional Rider Waite tarot system, you can read Autumn Tarot in the same way.
The deck officially comes out August 18th (date is subject to change) but it’s available for pre-order now. The Seasons of the Witch: Winter Tarotis also available now.
