The Everyday Arcana: 22 Tiny Ways to Live the Major Cards
Inner Light Tarot
How many times have you drawn a card and wondered “Ok, but what next?”
Tarot can exist beyond your reading, journal and altar spaces. It can live in the everyday and actually, it's much more powerful and impactful to infuse tarot meanings into mundane moments. Doing so means tarot isn’t just a divination tool anymore. It becomes a lifestyle, a rhythm and even a muse.
If you’ve ever felt like tarot was calling you to go deeper—not just into your readings but into your way of being—this post is your invitation. These are not rituals. They’re not full spreads or journal prompts. They’re small, sacred choices. Micro-movements. Everyday magic.
So, here are 22 ways to live the major arcana cards in your everyday life.
0. The Fool — Say Yes to Something New
Do something even when you don’t feel ready. Wear that bold outfit to work. Cut your hair. Try that new drink at Starbucks. Start a conversation with a stranger. Ask for a raise.
The Fool is all about getting out of your comfort zone so that you can expand your comfort zone. Be brave when this card appears. Say yes to something new, even something super small.
1. The Magician — Use What’s in Front of You
You’re never going to reach a starting line that starts at perfect. So get going. Use what you have and figure out the rest later.
2. The High Priestess — Keep Something Just for You
You don’t have to spill all the tea babe. Keep something to yourself when this card appears. Hide a hidden message in your bra. Don’t share that deep, meaningful dream. Keep whatever you’re working on close to your chest. The need to overshare is performative. Don’t do party tricks. Hold something special that yours and yours alone.
3. The Empress — Romanticize Your Daily Life
Buy the good bread. Wear the fancy robe. Make beauty your love language. The Empress is your permission to be fancy! Luxury is an attitude and you have every right to embrace that.
4. The Emperor — Take the Lead
Make a decision without second-guessing. Stand tall. Set the tone for your day. Walk into the room like you own it and everyone wants whatever you have. I have found that if you do something with enough conviction, people simply go along with it. It doesn’t matter if you’re faking it. Hold your head high and act like you’re hot shit when the Emperor appears.
5. The Hierophant — Create a Mini Tradition
Light the same candle every Sunday. Create a coffee ritual for the morning. Say something beautiful to yourself when you wake up. Always hug your partner whenever you leave each other. The Hierophant doesn’t have to represent rigidity. It can serve as a pathway towards meaningful habits.
6. The Lovers — Choose with Alignment
When faced with two options, pick the one that feels like truth—not pressure. The Lovers is about choice and choosing the things that align with your heart. Give yourself permission to choose what you want, not what’s expected of you. Start small with micro choices like being vocal about what you want for dinner or choosing the outfit you actually love to wear.
7. The Chariot — Move with Intention
Know your why before doing any task today. Know why you’re invested in that person or why you get up to go to work everyday. Know how you want to walk into a room or how you want to feel once you get there. Being intentional allows you to make choices to fulfill you rather than drain you.
8. Strength — Lead with Softness
Hold space. Take a deep breath before responding. Let kindness be your power. Strength isn’t about force. It's knowing when to push and when to pull. Take five breaths before taking action and ask yourself which is the best path forward: softness or a firm hand?
9. The Hermit — Step Away to Reconnect
Turn your phone off for an hour. Go for a solo walk. Eat lunch alone. Listen to your inner voice. Being by yourself isn’t loneliness when it's intentional.
10. The Wheel of Fortune — Let Go of One Thing You Can’t Control
Laugh off a delay. Say yes to a plot twist. Let the universe surprise you. Let someone else pick the damn movie. Everything can’t be in your control, babe. Let something go when this card appears.
11. Justice — Do the Right Thing (Even When No One Sees It)
Return the cart. Speak up. Keep your word. Live your values in the quiet moments. Integrity calls when this card appears. It's not about who sees you doing it. It's about knowing you did the right thing even though you didn’t have to.
12. The Hanged One — See it Differently
Pause before reacting. Play devil’s advocate. See things from a new perspective. When this card appears, take a moment to contemplate something different. Consider a different neighborhood to buy a house. Go to a different coffee shop than your local. Listen to your friend instead of immediately assuming they’re wrong.
13. Death — End Something Gently
Unfollow. Unsubscribe. Forgive. Clear space for something new to grow. It's ok to not feel aligned with something anymore.
14. Temperance — Blend Two Opposites
Work and rest. Beauty and mess. Make room for both—without needing perfection. Why do you need to choose? Find a way to bring two things together to form a new whole.
15. The Devil — Name Your Attachment
Notice what you reach for when you feel empty. Then choose with awareness. Shop online when you get overwhelmed? Eat when you’re stressed? Type micro aggressive emails to your shit co-worker? Take notice of these habits and speak them out loud. The more awareness you have, the easier it becomes to change your behavior.
16. The Tower — Let Something Crumble
Admit the truth. Feel the chaos. Begin again, freer and clearer than before. Just let it fall apart, it's going to anyway whether you want it to or not. In the meantime, start daydreaming about what comes next.
17. The Star — Be Vulnerable
Share something soft. Let yourself hope. Believe healing is still unfolding. Its ok to still be on your healing journey. Show yourself some grace and settle into whatever space you’re in.
18. The Moon — Honor Uncertainty
You don’t need all of the answers. Resist the urge to map everything out. Take a walk without having a destination or cook without a recipe. Let your intuition guide when the moon appears.
19. The Sun — Do the things that bring you joy.
Play your favorite songs. Watch your favorite movie. Indulge a little. You don’t need permission to love what you love. When the sun appears, let yourself bask in the little pleasures of life.
20. Judgement — Answer the Inner Call
What have you been avoiding? Today, take one brave step toward it. You’re being called for a reason so don’t deny yourself.
21. The World — Reflect on Something You’ve Finished (Even if It’s Small)
Completion deserves recognition. Reflect on how far you’ve come. Exhale. Begin again. Make a “done” list instead of a “to-do” list. Frame an old project. Revisit something you once loved and honor how far you’ve come.
