It’s been a while since I’ve been in this space with you. If you read my email from last week, then you’ll probably know winter had some interesting plans for me. As much as I wanted to, I just couldn’t be in a creative space. But that is shifting now and shifting fast. The past few weeks have been an endless list of “getting shit done” in the words of Jonna Jinton. I’ve been taking all sorts of action behind the scenes and I’m continuing with that this week.
The cards are confirming this rush of energy which is no surprise since spring is well and truly here. But the thing about spring is that it brings forth a lot of energy but you have to put that energy somewhere. Put it towards a task or project, a change of direction, a reinvention or whatever you choose. But do something with it. That’s the through line with these cards. Empower yourself to get it done whatever it is that’s sitting on your soul, waiting for something to happen.
For me, it’s stepping back into doing what I love which is tending to this space but also creating something new. I’ll start sharing more details about that soon for my members and for everyone else in late May. Now is the time to plant your seeds and watch them grow.

→ Maiden
This card is all about embracing your power! When I wrote this card, I intentionally wanted to speak to the way maidens have been reduced to damsels in distress, incapable of being their own saviors. You don’t need that. You don’t need a knight on a white horse or someone to be your guide. You can be as fearless as you like. Needing support is not the same as needing a babysitter or savior. You don’t need someone to pick up your load or to carry you across a threshold. You just need to believe you are capable of doing things yourself. You want to start a business then do it. Don’t wait for someone to do it with you or for someone to give you an idea. If you want to move to a foreign land then what are you waiting for? You don’t need permission to chase your dreams. You just need confidence. That’s the main takeaway here. Once you find your confidence, you will truly be unstoppable.

→ Ribbons
You already know what you need to do, my darling and you’ve known it for a while now. The problem isn’t that you aren’t clear. No, the issue is that it’s going to require more of you than you thought or wish to give. Lack of clarity is rarely the problem. We all know what it is we want to do and are excited and joyful at the idea of what’s possible. But then reality sets in or someone says something that introduces doubt. Suddenly you’re faced with all of the things that could go wrong and then the cost of what you want doesn’t seem like something you’re willing to pay. The advice is to stop telling yourself you can’t do something when that isn’t true. You can do whatever you want, it's just going to take a lot of effort. But name that effort clearly. Be honest about what’s holding you back so that you can decide whether or not it's enough to truly keep you from achieving your desires.

→ Maypole
Happiness is something you can experience at any moment, regardless of your circumstances. Happiness doesn’t need to have a source other than you. It can live independently of whatever experience may be happening in your life. We’re taught to believe physical things create happiness: money, connection with another person, accomplishment and recognition. These things can add to your joy of course but aren’t a requirement for your contentment. Nor is there any amount of worrying that can solve your problem. Thinking or even worse, stressing about your obstacles isn’t a solution but it is a great way to feel stuck, overwhelmed, angry and confused. Your mission today is to find joy however you can. Don’t underestimate the power of letting the light in, even on your darkest day. Recall a memory, smile just because you can, indulge in a fantasy or simply declare “I will not let…defeat me!”

Spirit wants you to take up some space when this card appears. It wants you to expand beyond your comfort zone and beyond the container of what you believe is possible. There’s always a chance for you to experience more. To be more. To do more. It's time to make those calls, sign up for those classes, or pick up and move halfway across the world. Take the chance. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to experience the fullness of your being. A plant grows and grows as big as it can. As long as there is nourishment, it will continue to thrive and expand, seeking every out hole and crevice until it can break free on the other side. You can do the same, darling. You can keep reaching for more, seeing just how far you’re willing to go.

→Surrender
It’s time to let go. What you need to let go of is up to you but deep down, you already know what’s too heavy to keep carrying on your back. It could be the pain of an old relationship or perhaps the idea that person will come back and fight for you. It could be an old version of yourself that can no longer hold all of the experiences you’ve had in life. It could be a goal, an idea, a fantasy or a place. It can be anything that no longer aligns with where you are or where you’re going. You don’t need all of this baggage. Reliving it won’t change what’s happened nor will it make life easier going forward. What will change your life for the better is giving yourself permission to leave it right where it is and to keep going. You’ll be able to accomplish so much more with a lightened heart. Fill yourself with beautiful things once your spirit has space for something else. Today’s mission is to figure out what you need to surrender and then just walk away. Say your goodbyes and refuse to let it follow you a moment longer.

→ Pegasus
Pegasus appears when you’re about to experience something that will change your life. But here’s the thing, when us “spiritual teachers” say things like this, we don’t mean things will suddenly be different or at least I don’t. A single choice, a single moment in time can change the course of your life and you may never be aware of what that moment actually is. It could be the decision to turn left instead of right, to go to one store versus another or even just to call in sick to work. Whatever the cause, know that a single moment is only the first step in a long journey. No change happens overnight. No habit is dropped instantly. No relationship is ever truly love at first sight. And no overnight success is actually overnight. Monumental change takes whatever time it needs. As this transition takes place, it's important for you to keep saying yes; keep showing up for the things that light you up. That’s how you stay the course. Explore and experiment and give yourself permission to do the things that bring you joy. Keep doing that and one day, it really will feel like you’ve changed overnight.

→ Bonfire
If ever there is a season for taking action, it’s spring. This is the time when your ideas, dreams and goals are most supported in their initial stages. But just like a fire, dreams have to be tended. You have to stoke a fire or add to it to keep it burning. Dreams are the same. If you walk away from an idea or let it sit, how do you expect it to become a reality? Today, spend some time thinking about what comes next for you. Where do you need to put more energy? This is not necessarily about money or success. It's about committing to something and following through on that commitment. That might mean five minutes a day is all you have but at least you’ve done something. Effort compounds and five minutes a day can create more progress than you might think. But you have to get started or watch as your flames dwindle and then go out completely.
